Q: Can I have my packet mailed to me?  What comes in the mail if I choose this option?

A: Yes, when you register online, you will be asked if you want it mailed to you early with your shirt, the cost is $20. If you elect this option you will receive your bib and race shirt no later than 3 weeks prior to the race.

Q: When will packets be mailed out?

A: Packets will be mailed out starting in mid November, this option closes down in late October.

Q: Will you host a packet pick up prior to the race?

A: Yes, we will have a packet pick up location prior to the race and will also have a very limited packet pick up on the morning of, though we anticipate not holding the race up for late comers. Race starts sharp at 7am so get to packet pick up by 5:30am.

Q: Can I pick up a packet for a friend, family member, or group?

A: Yes with a copy of their photo ID.

Q: Do you ever host training runs for those interested in training for any of the events?

A: Yes, from time to time we host a few training runs at various places starting in late July.  Look at our calendar link “click on events” and on Facebook for a list of times and locations. Generally posted in mid-July.

Q: Is there a post race festival?

A: Yes, there is a full blown festival after the event in the park, stay end enjoy our sponsor and vendors, it is a fun time. Always an exciting time.

To our dedicated runners who have joined us from all over since 2011. We have immensely enjoyed serving all of you, however we have made the decision to retire the Walnut Creek Running Festival. We have absolutely enjoyed hosting this event, and the City of Walnut Creek has been so awesome to work with. Talk about championing an event. They have been behind us 100% since the beginning.

Half Marathon Road running events are a feat in and of themselves. To host this type of event where you get to use the city surface streets bringing a large gathering of runners together all on one day is a task and takes months of planning every year. We were fortunate enough to have been given this level of trust by the City. But with each year of planning this event, also comes the consideration and cost of other things that need tending to as well.
